Analogue or Die! Official Opening & Birthday Bash
After the soft opening, it’s time to make it official. On Saturday October 17 we have more than one reason to celebrate.
First and foremost: the official opening of Analogue or Die!, our new shop in Schiedam, packed with analogue cameras, photographic oddities, hi-fi, records and assorted curiosities.
But October 17 also happens to be the perfect excuse to celebrate the birthdays of Jan & Steffan, so we’re combining the whole lot into one opening and birthday bash.
We’ll take care of the drinks and snacks, and naturally AOD remains open for business throughout the party until 21:00. So you can have a drink, celebrate with us, browse the shop and leave with something you definitely didn’t plan on buying.

Audio & Photography Repair & Advice Evening - Thursday October 23, 17 - 21h
Every last Thursday of the month, it’s Repair & Advice Evening at Analogue or Die!
From 17:00–19:00, our camera specialist Cok is here to help with analogue cameras, lenses and other photographic equipment.
From 19:00–21:00, our audio specialist Pim is available for vintage audio and hi-fi equipment.
Our specialists will see if they can help you on the spot. If a repair needs more work, they’ll discuss the expected costs and turnaround time with you.
You’re also very welcome to drop by for general advice, questions, or simply a chat.

Analogue Portrait Walk - Sunday October 25, 2026
Start: 15:00 at De Majum, Schoonderloostraat 235, Rotterdam
Finish: Analogue or Die!, Laurens Costerstraat 39a, Schiedam
Join our first Analogue Portrait Walk.
You’ll be randomly paired with another participant and have 90 minutes to make analogue portraits of each other while making your way from De Majum in Rotterdam to Analogue or Die! in Schiedam.
Open to beginners and experienced photographers. We’ll start with a short introduction at De Majum before everyone heads out.
Participation:
€15 – Bring your own camera and film
€25 – Bring your own camera, film supplied by us
€30 – Camera and film supplied by us
Development and digital scans are included. Scans will be ready on Tuesday October 27.
Payment in advance is required.

A selection of the portraits will be shared on Instagram. The best photo will be chosen by a well-known mystery photographer from Rotterdam.

Workshop Analogue Photography
Want to start shooting film but don’t quite know where to begin? During this two-hour workshop at Analogue or Die!, Ank Zwolle and Steffan Hofland will teach you everything you need to get started with analogue photography.
The first hour covers the theory: how an analogue camera works, shutter speed, aperture, light metering, focusing, choosing and loading film, and how to put it all together to get the photograph you want.
During the second hour, we put the theory into practice and start shooting. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have enough knowledge and confidence to go out and shoot film on your own.
When: Every first Thursday of the month, 19:30–21:30
First workshop: Thursday, November 5, 2026

Duration: 2 hours
Maximum: 12 participants. Full = full.
€15 p.p. if you bring your own analogue camera and film.
€30 p.p. if we provide the camera and film.
After the workshop, you’ll also receive a discount if you decide to buy an analogue camera at Analogue or Die!
